Support for Grassroots Business
You can say we’ve been there right from the start – helping road freight businesses stay on the road since 1948. NatRoad is the only association to represent the trucking industry Australia-wide, and we have industry expertise in all Australian states and territories.
NatRoad is not-for-profit and 100% funded via its membership fees and business partnerships – that means we’ll always put you first. We handpick our partners to ensure they have the same commitment of putting our members first.
We Have Your Back
Did you know that in 2020 NatRoad made over 50 submissions to government and regulators to make it easier for you to run your business? From toll, parking and rest areas to workers compensation, safety, and a single Covid permit scheme – we are your voice where it matters.
Giving You a Say
Road transport operators and their employees should have a say in the development of transport policy and the laws that affect them. That’s why NatRoad not only advocates on your behalf but encourage and facilitate ongoing communication that helps you understand your roles and responsibilities under the law and access training designed to keep you safe and compliant. We invite you to get involved.
The Right Support
Every business is different. That’s why NatRoad offers the widest range of tools, resources, advice and support to cover all road freight industry requirements. Test drive us on advice for everything from human resources, employment law to industrial relations, compliance and safety. We have the right support for you.
Our History
The National Road Transport Operators Association was formed in 1994 when the Long Distance Road Transport Association (started in 1948) and the National Transport Federation (started in 1986) decided to combine their respective strengths. From this partnership, NatRoad has developed into Australia’s leading Association for long-distance and regionally based road freight operators. In 2008, NatRoad merged with the Australian Road Train Association to create the largest and most powerful grassroots national representative organisation in Australia.
