From Tuesday 16 February 2021, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) will be carrying out scour protection activities along the riverbank at the western abutment of the Bridge over Georges River at Newbridge Road, Chipping Norton.
The work will be conducted underneath the bridge and involves placement of rocks to repair the riverbank where it has been washed away. Crew will be on-site for up to six weeks during February and March 2021.
TfNSW aim to:
• Protect the abutment batter from scouring
• Ensure stability of the abutment structure
• Reduce the long term and ongoing maintenance
Work will be carried out from Tuesday 16 February to Friday 26 March 2021.
Our working hours will be between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 8am and 1pm on Saturday, weather permitting.
We will not work on Sunday or public holidays.
How will the work affect you?
As our work will be conducted underneath the bridge, there will be minimal impact on motorists.
If there are any changes to our schedule, or any impact on access to the bridge, NatRoad will keep you updated.
