From Friday 26 March 2021, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) will continue to scour protection activities along the riverbank at the western abutment of the Bridge over Georges River at Newbridge Road, Chipping Norton.
The scour protection activities are conducted underneath the bridge during day shifts and involve the placement of rocks to repair the riverbank where it has been washed away.
In February, TfNSW advised this work would take place from 16 February to 26 March, however, their schedule has changed. On 16 March they installed site fencing and will commence work in late March.
TfNSW now advise work will continue from Friday 26 March to Friday 30 April 2021 in order to:
• Protect the abutment batter from scouring
• Ensure stability of the abutment structure
• Reduce the long term and ongoing maintenance
Previously advised work schedule: Tuesday 16 February to Friday 26 March.
Current work schedule: Site fencing was installed 16 March. Work will commence in late March and will continue from Friday 26 March to Friday 30 April.
Working hours will be between 7am and 6pm from Monday to Friday and between 8am and 1pm on Saturday, weather permitting. Crew will not work on Sunday or public holidays
