The Queensland Chief Health Officer is encouraging any freight and logistics operators entering Queensland from a COVID-19 t to have their drivers tested to help minimise the spread of COVID-19 in Queensland.

Darling Downs Health recently set up a drive-in COVID-19 test site at the Goondiwindi Showgrounds, which is open 8.30am-4.00pm, seven days.

A second drive-in test site at the Driver Reviver Rest Area at Wallangarra, on the Queensland side, just over the QLD-NSW border.  This site will be open from 1pm on Monday 3 August. From Tuesday 4 August it will be open 8.30am to 4.00pm, seven days a week.

Truck access to the Wallangarra COVI-19 test site is via a marked one-way route around Wallangarra Park, via Barawell, Glenlyon and Margetts streets.

The testing process should be quick and easy to reduce the time you are off the road. Noting drivers won’t need to exit their vehicles and the testing process should take around 15 minutes.

Drivers will be given a self-collection kit so they can collect a swab themselves, with the help and supervision of Darling Downs Health staff, or if they’d prefer a Darling Downs Health nurse can collect the swab for them.
