Executive Director, Freight, Transport for NSW

Susie Harwood is the Executive Director Freight at Transport for NSW, leading Freight Branch in giving freight a louder voice earlier by raising the profile of freight as a fundamental customer of the transport system, to enable the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods. Working in partnership across government and with industry to deliver improved freight outcomes for the people of NSW. With more than a decade of experience in Transport, Susie has played an important role in building strong and trusted relationships with transport customers and the freight industry. With her team, Susie is currently working to ensure that Transport for NSW and government more broadly understands and values the role of freight. Amidst the challenges of the COVID19 crisis, working in partnership government and the private sector, Transport for NSW played a crucial role in keeping freight moving. This has given the freight industry a new social licence and Susie and her team will be building on the achievements delivered during the crisis to continue to strengthen the relationship with industry and to enable a safe, productive and sustainable transport system for passengers and goods.

Justin Halim

Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

Justin Halim is a Director in Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications and leads the National Heavy Vehicle Charging Pilot team. He has a keen interest in transport technology, road safety and economic pricing for road use. Justin has over a decade of experience in the public service and has held numerous transport policy and technical roles within the department covering automated vehicles, vehicle safety standards and transport regulatory reform. Prior to working in the department, Justin held roles in the NSW Police Force Engineering Investigation Section and the private sector. When Justin is not at work you will find him juggling house renovations and being a Dad to three wonderful and creative daughters.
