Sydney law firm, Ainsley Law, are offering free legal assistance to NatRoad members in response to the COVID-19 situation.
Ainsley Law are members of NatRoad and have worked with the industry for many years.
“This has been a difficult time for the whole country. We can see that the transport industry has been impacted too. The last thing drivers and operators need right now is to be worrying about upcoming court cases” says principal solicitor, Sarah Marinovic.
In response to COVID-19 there have been significant changes to the way the NSW Local Court operates. Many types of cases have been postponed. There are also restrictions on who is allowed to attend court. Some cases can now be dealt with via email. The rules are changing weekly, so it’s important to keep up to date.
To help the industry, Ainsley law are offering the following assistance to NatRoad members who have an upcoming court date for a heavy vehicle charge in NSW:
- Free advice on whether you need to attend
- Free assistance to adjourn your case without attending court
- “We wanted to say thank you for the transport industry’s hard work. Over the last 12 months we’ve watched you step up time and again to keep the country running in difficult times. From carting hay in the drought, to bringing supplies to bushfire affected towns and now keeping industry open during COVID-19” Ms Marinovic said.
