Bridge Demolition Burley Griffin Way at Wallendbeen

Burley Griffin Way, between the Olympic Highway at Wallendbeen and Millvale Road at Temora has closed to all traffic to allow for repairs to damage caused to the rail bridge and road approaches at Wallendbeen.

The rail bridge will be demolished and replaced with demolition work expected to be by today, Wednesday 31. Further work to replace the bridge will take place after this is complete.

It is anticipated the road may be closed for some time with more detailed information to be shared with as soon as possible.

While the road is closed, a detour via the Olympic Highway and Goldfields Way will be in place, which may add an additional 40 minutes travel time to journeys.

Burley Griffin Way through Wallendbeen is a PBS route, PBS vehicles should use alternative approved routes suitable for their combination.

Freight operators seeking further information about permits or alternative routes should contact Heavy Vehicle Access Coordinator Craig Gibbins on 0428 410 626.
