It pays to speak up! ‘Low Bridge’ Warning Signage being improved

Earlier this year, a NatRoad member notified us of a collision between a heavy vehicle and a low bridge/rail overpass in Toowoomba. NatRoad took the matter to the local council where an engineer followed up on the issue, which will now be resolved with better signage.

The ‘Low Bridge’ Warning signage on North Street, Toowoomba will be improved as follows:

  • Relocate two signs for better visibility;
  • Install a new ‘Low Clearance 3.5m’ warning sign west of the intersection of North Street for the western approach of the rail overpass.

NatRoad is actively advocating for improved road signage to support road safety, and this is an example that shows advocacy pays.

If you know of examples of poor road signage affecting road safety, please let NatRoad know at [email protected] or 1800 272 144.
