Allan Thornley – President

From a background in automotive component manufacturing, Allan moved into transport in 1984 where he enjoyed a variety of roles in predominantly long haul businesses before joining Shaws Darwin Transport in 1997 and since April 2011, has been their Managing Director. Shaws has been a NatRoad member since 1984 and Allan has been NatRoad Board member since 2010.

Melanie Cosgrove – Vice President

Melanie has 16 years direct experience with over 20 years indirect experience in the transport industry working for a number of companies including NatRoad foundation partners. Melanie started her career in the industry by undertaking a traineeship in spare parts with Torque Power Diesel. She is now the Fleet and Compliance Manager for SRV Road Freight Services. Melanie has been a NatRoad Board member since 2011.

Alan Magill – Treasurer

Starting in the local region of Parkes NSW, Alan has been involved in the family owned farming business for over 20 years and he has grown the business to its current standing operating on a daily basis mainly through the eastern states of Australia. Alan has a strong involvement in NSW transport forums that cover issues such as regulations and reforms. He has been a NatRoad member since 1996, and a NatRoad Board member since 2012.

Leslie “Leckie” Milne

Leckie is currently the director of two Shepparton based companies, operating heavy duty haulage vehicles locally and interstate and has been involved in
the transport industry since the young age of 16. Leckie has been a member of Natroad since 1988 and NatRoad Board member since 2011.

Michael Kennedy

Michael has been directly involved in the road freight transport industry spanning 30 years with experience in all facets of the road transport industry, specialising in express line haul. He is the founder and Managing Director of Tantusk Pty Ltd. He has been a NatRoad member since 1996, and a NatRoad Board member since 2005.

Steve Fieldus

Steve has been involved in the heavy transport industry for 30 years.  As a bulk haulage operator from Dubbo in central NSW, he has a family background in transport industry and was an owner driver for several years before starting Transforce Bulk Haulage Pty Ltd. Transforce has been a member of NatRoad since 2009 and Steve has been a NatRoad Board member since 2011.

Michael Murrell

Michael is a Director of Murrell Freight Services Pty Ltd located in Port Kembla NSW – a family owned and operated business. Murrell Freight Services has been a member of NatRoad since 2012 and Michael has been a NatRoad Board member since 2014.

Greg Dyer

Greg is a Director of Dyers Distribution having 30 years’ experience in the road transport industry working within the family business and is largely responsible for HR, compliance and operations within the business. Dyers Distribution has been a member of NatRoad since 2001 and Greg has been a NatRoad Board member since 2014.

Scott Davidson

Scott Davidson is the owner of QMC Logistics, a leading refrigerated carrier.  QMC specialise in the transport of time sensitive perishable foods across Australia. Scott has been a Director of NatRoad since 2014, and has taken a key role in the engagement and development of the Association’s corporate partnerships.

Kellie Boland

Kellie has 25 years direct experience with 30 plus years indirect experience within the transport industry. She started out driving, interstate allocation and finally moving to fleet R & M. Kellie is a fellow director of Boland Transport – a small family business situated in Winton Victoria specialising in steel cartage.  The family ties with Boland Transport dates back 80 years and 3 generations. Why did I put my hand up for a role on the Natroad board? “With what we and other owner drivers have been through over the past 8 to 12 months it was time to put my hand up, chip in and be accounted for within our wonderful industry”.

Maggie Welsh 

Maggie Welsh is a name familiar to many as she has been in the industry for around 30 years. Today, with her husband, they supply dairy farms with hay as well as carry agricultural and general freight running regularly from Northern NSW to SA. “The physical and mental health of our industry is as important as being able to work our trucks.”
