National Heavy Vehicle Road User Charging Pilot

NatRoad hosted an important webinar for Members between on 16 November focussed on the National Heavy Vehicle Road User Charging Pilot.

The National Pilot is a partnership between industry and government that tests direct user charging options for heavy vehicles through a series of on-road trials.

The National Pilot trials are voluntary and trials are delivered in a test environment with no money changing hands.

Our guest speaker that presented was Tom Guan who is Assistant Director of the National Heavy Vehicle Charging Pilot in the Department of Infrastructure Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts. He works on delivering the National Heavy Vehicle Charging Pilot.

Tom has a keen interest in heavy vehicles, transport, economic pricing and transport technology. Specifically, Tom has been involved in designing the telematics concepts and alternative mass distance heavy vehicle charging models to be used in Phase 3 of the Pilot trials.
