As reported in the media, from 6.00pm Sunday 31 January 2021 the Perth metropolitan area, Peel and South West regions of Western Australia are in a 5-day lockdown.
These measures have been implemented by the Western Australian government due to a fast-evolving situation where a hotel quarantine worker has tested positive to COVID-19.
A list of locations the confirmed case visited is available on the Department of Health’s website. People who were at these places on these dates must go and get tested.
As the Western Australian government has maintained a controlled border arrangement since the beginning of the pandemic, the 5-day lockdown has not changed the border crossing requirements for freight workers entering Western Australia.
Any transport or freight worker entering Western Australia needs to show evidence of having received a negative COVID-19 test result in the last 5 days. If the worker has not been tested in the last 5 days, they will be directed at the Western Australia border to undertake a COVID-19 test within 48 hours.
Transport, freight and logistics operators are also encouraged to complete a COVID Safety Plan noting the COVID Safety Plan Guidelines, to ensure they are mitigating the risks of COVID-19.
