Improvements are being made for the safety and traffic flow on the Murray Valley Highway between Lake Charm and Lake Boga.
Construction crew are now completing works to asphalt the road surface in two sections:
- between Mystic Park Road and south of Bailey Road
- between Benjeroop-Tresco Road to the south of Bruce Road.
The sealing has been finished on the other 8kms of this project. Once all road surfaces are completed, rumble strips, line marking and barriers will be installed along this route.
What this means for you:
Speeds will be reduced to 40km/h through the work areas. Traffic management will be in place to guide you through the site and to protect both work crews and all road users.
No detours will be in place, but if you’re travelling through the area be aware of changed traffic conditions, plan ahead and allow for up to 15 minutes of extra travel time.
In some locations, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with traffic lights to allow traffic to flow safely. The traffic signals will operate overnight to ensure you travel safely through the worksite. Please take care when travelling through these work zones.
Works are expected to finish in mid-2021. You can learn more here: Murray Valley Highway – Lake Charm to Lake Boga
