The Heavy Vehicle National Law – National Class 1 Special Purpose Vehicle Notice 2020 (No 3) (The Notice) has now been released, superseding the National Class 1 Special Purpose Vehicle Notice 2020 (No 2).
Minor change:
A minor change was made to Schedule 3 Queensland Schedule of The Notice.
- Removal of a ‘Note’ referencing the previously revoked Section 10, specifying Christmas – New Year and Easter restrictions.
- This change was made to remove any ambiguity relating to travel over the Christmas and Easter periods.
Christmas Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) restrictions:
Please be advised, Schedule 3, Section 7 – Queensland specific area conditions, apply to SPVs exceeding 3.1 metres wide but not exceeding the limit of 3.5 metres wide.
- These SPV’s are not permitted to travel during time periods as specified in the National Class 1 Special Purpose Vehicle Notice 2020 (No 3).
- Restrictions are applicable to Saturdays, Sundays, state-wide public holidays and the day prior to a declared long weekend.
Note – These restrictions do not apply to SPVs less than 3.1 metres wide.
