Talking Awards: You know who to contact

The Fair Work Commission has re-drafted a clause dealing with the annual shut down requirements in Road Transport and Distribution Award 2020 and Road Transport (Long Distance Operations) Award 2020 as part of its regular program of “plain language” revisions. Draft determinations of both have been published online here and here.

Although the substance of both Awards remains the same, it’s timely to remind Members that NatRoad is always at the other end of the phone or email address should you have any questions about Awards. Call 1800 272 144 or drop us a line.

It’s also a cue to mention that although awards contain terms that permit employers to require employees to take annual leave and/or be absent for an annual shutdown, this is usually subject to an employer giving affected employees at least four weeks’ notice, or in the case of the Transport Awards any shorter period agreed between them and the employer.
