Ron Grosso

National Transport Commission

Ron Grosso, Acting Head of the Safety Reform and Partnerships, is responsible for the safety program and partnerships in the facilitated reform portfolio. This includes the NTC’s driver distraction, innovative vehicles, assessing fitness to drive and dangerous goods work. With a well-established reputation across multiple strategic communication disciplines – including, corporate communication; internal communication; and government affairs – Ron has extensive private sector experience, leading multi-disciplinary teams in delivering major strategic projects for several global multinational firms within the transport/automotive, agriculture and construction sectors. Ron is also a former Board member of the Truck Industry Council and the Tractor and Machinery Association, and has occupied key roles on strategic standing committees of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries and Gas Energy Australia. Ron holds a Bachelor of Business and a Masters in Commercial Law from Monash University.

Bethany Magill

Magill Transport

Bethany Magill is the Maintenance Coordinator for the family-fun business, Magill Transport, based in Parkes, Central West NSW. Bethany is involved in assisting with logistics and business administration. In 2018, Bethany was nominated by NatRoad to participate in the ATA’s Daimler Future Leader Program, where she focussed on the attraction and retention of staff in the transport industry. This is an area in which Bethany has continued to work over subsequent years, and is speaking on at the Forum.

David Johns joined NatRoad in March 2018. A recognised advocate and workplace relations specialist, he has more than 20 years’ experience across a diverse range of workplace and employment related issues. He is a trusted adviser to many NatRoad members and is valued for his practical guidance and advice. David is a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute and a past President of the Australian Labour and Employment Relations Association SA.
