NatRoad Connect 25 conference delivers practical insights for the road freight industry

The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) held its annual national conference, NatRoad Connect 25, in Shepparton, Victoria, on 12 September. 

With the theme of ‘Navigating now – staying ahead on the road’, NatRoad Connect 25 featured industry experts who focused on delivering the practical advice and insights road freight operators need to navigate the challenges and opportunities of running a trucking business. 

Beginning with opening addresses from NatRoad Chair Paul Fellows and Sen. Bridget McKenzie, Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, the day of conference sessions covered legal, tax, insurance, regulatory and HR issues. Speakers included industry experts from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), the ATO and NatRoad’s in-house legal and HR advisors.   

The conference included a gala dinner at Shepparton’s Museum of Vehicle Evolution, where the winners of the 2025 NatRoad Awards were announced across the categories of National Young Driver of the Year, Professional Driver of the Year, Excellence in Operational Support and the Ted Pickering Memorial Award.
