NatRoad is pleased to announce our sponsorship of the Steering the Future program in 2025. Steering the Future is an innovative initiative aiming to educate and inspire young people about careers in the road transport industry. The program also emphasises the importance of safety around trucks, teaching young people how to interact safely with heavy vehicles.
“We are proud to support Steering the Future in their aim to encourage more young people into the heavy vehicle industry, while teaching kids about safety around trucks in an age-appropriate way.” NatRoad CEO, Warren Clark said.
“With an ageing workforce and a driver shortage problem of close to 28,000 unfilled positions, it’s clear more needs to be done to attract young people to the industry.” Clark added. In 2025, the Steering the Future truck will travel across Australia visiting schools, career days and driver education events. The truck is equipped with two driving simulators, 360-degree videos and VR googles to give young people the chance to experience what is like to sit behind the wheel of a truck.
