NatRoad is encouraging industry to recognise the drivers, operational professionals, and industry leaders who keep Australia’s freight moving.

NatRoad is calling on the road transport industry to recognise the outstanding people who keep Australia’s freight moving, with nominations now open for the 2026 NatRoad Awards, sponsored by NTI.

NatRoad CEO Warren Clark said the NatRoad Awards celebrate the people who consistently go above and beyond to support Australia’s road transport industry. “Our industry is full of hard-working people whose professionalism and commitment keep Australia’s supply chains moving every day, often without seeking recognition,” he said.

“The NatRoad Awards are an opportunity to celebrate those people and acknowledge the contribution they make to their workplace, their communities, and the broader road transport industry.”

“Whether it’s a young driver building an impressive career, a professional driver with an outstanding commitment to safety, or someone working tirelessly behind the scenes to support their team, we encourage nominations of the people making a real difference.”

Nominations are now open across three award categories:

  • NTI NatRoad Sam Sali National Young Driver of the Year – recognising inspirational young drivers aged 30 years and under who demonstrate professionalism, commitment and leadership.
  • NTI NatRoad Professional Driver of the Year – recognising experienced drivers who exemplify safety, professionalism, customer service and excellence in the industry.
  • NTI NatRoad Excellence in Operational Support – recognising the operational professionals whose leadership, dedication and behind-the-scenes contribution help transport businesses succeed.

Mr Clark said last year’s winners highlighted the breadth of talent across the industry, from emerging drivers and experienced transport professionals to operational leaders.

“Excellence can be found in transport businesses of every size and in every corner of the country,” he said. “We know there are many deserving people whose contributions often go unnoticed. If you know someone who consistently goes above and beyond, now is the time to nominate them.”

2026 NatRoad Award winners will be announced at the Industry Gala Dinner during NatRoad’s annual conference, NatRoad Connect 26. Award finalists will receive free registration to NatRoad Connect 26, including the Industry Gala Dinner.

Nominations close on 18 September 2026.
