NatRoad Regional Forum – Wodonga

Don’t miss the NatRoad Regional Forum in Wodonga on 22 April 2021 held at Twin City Truck Centre.

The theme for this Forum is ‘On-road behaviour’, with the National Transport Commission presenting on its findings on driver distraction and proposed government reforms. The Victorian Police will present on enforcement of the National Heavy Vehicle Law and other laws in Victoria. Find out what’s happening in the industry, what changes are coming that will affect your business from NatRoad and connect with mates and make connections for your business.

Speakers include:

  • Luis Gutierrez, Manager Productivity and Safety, National Transport Commission
    Distraction is nationally recognised as a critical road safety risk that needs to be addressed effectively. The current Australian Road Rules only regulate the use of mobile phones and visual display units and are quickly becoming outdated. The National Transport Commission has developed a technology-neutral regulatory approach for regulating driver distraction.
  • Detective Acting Sergeant Robert Mitchell, Victorian Police HV Unit

About the speakers:

Luis Gutiérrez is the Safety Manager at the National Transport Commission with previous experience in transport and infrastructure policy advice in two state governments.  In his current role, Luis is leading the development of a technology-neutral approach for regulating driver distraction.

Richard Calver is a lawyer with over 40 years’ experience in providing advice to a range of industries and private clients.  He has been with NatRoad on a full time basis since 2017.   He has expertise in workplace relations and general commercial law, as well as being immersed in the details of the HVNL and road traffic law.
