The Victorian Police will present on enforcement of the National Heavy Vehicle Law and other laws in Victoria. Distraction is nationally recognised as a critical road safety risk that needs to be addressed effectively. The current Australian Road Rules only regulate the use of mobile phones and visual display units and are quickly becoming outdated. The National Transport Commission has developed a technology-neutral regulatory approach for regulating driver distraction.
