Employees working in permitted industries in Victoria, who cannot work from home, will be required to carry a new ‘Worker Permit’ when travelling to and from work from midnight on Wednesday 5 August 2020. Employers will be required to issue signed permits to their employees to allow them to attend a workplace.
This follows tougher restrictions, supported by stronger enforcement and increased penalties implemented by the Victorian Government as part of Stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne to combat the spread of Covid-19. Regional Victoria will move to Stage 3 restrictions from midnight on Wednesday 5 August 2020.
