Queensland has announced that southeast Queensland, Townsville, Palm Island and Magnetic Island go into a three-day snap lockdown from 6.00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday 29 June 2021).

Queensland has announced that southeast Queensland, Townsville, Palm Island and Magnetic Island go into a three-day snap lockdown from 6.00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday 29 June 2021).

People in the areas under lockdown will only be able to leave their homes for essential reasons like grocery shopping, exercise, work and medical care.

Masks will be mandatory in any location indoors (except if at home, or in the cab of your vehicle), and on public transport and in ride share vehicles.

Queensland the fourth jurisdiction to impose a lockdown in response to latest COVID-19 outbreak, following New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
