Read time: 1 min

The Fair Work Commission has announced an increase to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award wages from 1 July 2026.

  • The minimum wages outlined in modern awards are increasing by 4.75%.
  • The National Minimum Wage is increasing to $1004.90 per week or $26.44 per hour.
  • Allowances within the awards have increased.

The new wage rates and allowances will apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2026.

It is recommended that employers who already pay above the current award rate take the time to review the updated wages included in the announcement to ensure compliance. By doing so, you can mitigate any potential risk of underpayment.
